Enchants Lands has a nice series of solo quests that pretty much walk you through
levels 30-32. They start by talking to the guard at the bottom of the dock steps. Pretty much anything near the docks is easy to kill. The turtles seem to provide the least amount of risk to kill, and almost everything drops quests to kill other types of monsters here. However, I would suggest ignoring the quests to kill badgers. Very few of them ever spawn. While you are fighting here, the place you should be looking to group up for is Runnyeye. You have to be very careful running there though, the goblins near the entrance are casters, and will root you. If you are rooted, you pretty much have no chance of survival. Use stealth to get by if you’re asked to join anyone in Runnyeye. An alternative place to solo at this level would be Zek. Zek is much more dangerous however, with most of the mobs in the zone being agro. I would only suggest Zek for soloing if Enchanted Lands is overrun with players. With mobs pathing all over, there is no literal safe area in this zone besides the fort at the docks. Levels 35-42: Feerrott, Rivervale At level 35, you gain auto access to the Feerrott. Once here, spend all your time hunting here as possible, especially killing the Huuptics. The reason why is because the tattered robe for the Robe of the Invoker quest drops supposedly off any mob in this zone, but mostly confirmed off of the Huuptics. It is a very rare drop, but the robe is one of the best in the game. You can choose to wear it for grouping, or sell it for vast amounts of money. I’ve personally see them sell for over 10 platinum to other players. Also the benefit of having Feerrott access is that you can now finish the Journeyman’s Boots quests. The quest starts in Antonica near the North Qeynos gates. As a scout, you should be able to do all of the runs by yourself with just pathfinding and escape (On the Thundering Steppes, Nektulos Forest, and maybe the Zek run) The Journeyman’s boots quest provides nearly 30% experience upon completion so make it a priority. The boots themselves are not wearable until level 42 though. Rivervale is another possibility for soloing. The rats on the hill on the left from zone in are pretty easy, but what you should look for is the Bramble Terrors and other type of Bramble mobs on Eastern side of the zone. You have to dodge fairies, which make it difficult, but the Bramble Terrors drop Enchanted Bramble armor which is the best magic resist armor you can get as an assassin. Introduction
This section is about fighting encounters by alone. Typically this will only be done while you are looking for a group because it becomes more and more obvious as you level up that scouts in general are not designed to take hits. Almost every overland zone has had areas converted from group encounters to solo encounters, which makes it very easy to find a solo mob at your level. Groups usually form up in these overland zones to go into the dungeons which are mainly group encounters and generally have a higher chance of dropping better items, and provide more experience. This section will list places for soloing for different levels, and different strategies to defeat different types of solo mobs. *3.2.Soloing Locations Levels 3-5: Isle of Refuge The Isle of Refuge is probably by far the easiest place to solo the first few levels. The solo mobs are all lower level, and are easy to kill without even pressing a key other than auto attack. If you get in trouble, you can run back to the guards and they will dispatch the goblins without a problem. There are class specific quests in the village area which will constantly send you out to investigate and kill the goblins out there. As you go farther out, the goblins will start becoming hostile instead of just letting you walk up and start beating on them. Use sneak to avoid the mobs that are aggressive, to get to areas where the mobs are higher level, but away from the aggressive goblins. There are a few wolves that spawn near a hill east of one of these aggressive goblin camps. They respawn fairly quickly, and can yield decent experience without fear of anything aggressive sneaking up on you. Levels 5-8: Thieves’ Way The Thieves’ Way is a complicated maze of twists and turns. You can zone in there from any zone in Freeport, and once there, I’d suggest you keep following either the right or left wall so you can find your way back. When fighting here, you should always pull the mob back to where you fought the last one before it. The Thieves’ Way has a lot of agro mobs that path around, so as long as you continue to pull mobs away from the big rooms into the smaller hallways, you should remain safe while fighting. There are a lot of - 27 - Everquest 2 Assassin Guide zones that connect from the Thieves’ Way, and you should mouse over any grates you pass to take note of them just in case you need a quick escape. Levels 8-19: Commonlands, Antonica Just outside the West Freeport gates are all the solo mobs you could ever desire. Between the armadillos, and the plethora of Orcs, you should have no problem finding anything to kill while still near the safety of the guards just incase things get out of hand. As you make your way out farther into the Commonlands you will get to the crossroads. Talk to every person there, and acquire all of their quests. Spend your time trying to go through each of these quests and it will give you something to do while you gain experience at the same time. When you hit level 15, you should go grab the Fallen Gate access quest in North Freeport. The quest giver is Kanos X’aphon. You can find him by opening your map window, and clicking on the Thieves’ Way entrance. This will waypoint you next to where he is standing. He will ask you to talk to Tundis N’Oxyle. He is located near the Fallen Gate entrance which is on the Far West side of the zone through the Yapping Maze. He will ask you to kill Sandstone giants which are most likely too hard for you solo at this level. So you can either wait until they con grey to you, or get some help to kill them. After that part of the quest, you head back to Kanos X’aphon, and once again you should have help or wait till you are about level 18-19. Go up the stairs and kill Lana to finish the access quest. You will need access to Fallen Gate much later in the game, plus it’s a great place to group with people and get experience. Antonica is an alternative to Commonlands, but it requires going through Nektulos forest which is quite a dangerous run. Antonica usually has much more players there making it easier to get a group. Also the dynamic camps east of the Qeynos griffin station have been converted to solo encounters. They can be a very nice place to fight for experience, and loot as they have a chance to spawn a named mob after you clear everything around. At level 19, you will be need to go do the Assassin hallmark quest detailed in section 1.3.2. After doing the quest, head to Thundering Steppes These allow you to choose an ability to raise to Master II. You get choices as you gain
every 10 levels from level 14 and on. - 24 - Everquest 2 Assassin Guide *2.5.1.List Of Class Specialization Skills *LevelSkill Description 13 13 12 10 24 24 21 20 34 33 32 30 44 43 41 40 Impale Hunter’s Instinct Bleed Shadow Blade Ebon Blade Assassin’s Blade Poisoner’s Blade Cut Throat Slice Throat Exposed Attack Numbing Strike Deadly Shot Improvised Weapon Lingering Blow Infected Wound Assassin’s Shot Inflict 42-71 piercing damage to target Decrease health of target by 12-20 instantly and every 4 seconds Increase Agility by 17.2 Increase DPS by 17.9% Inflicts 9-15 melee damage to target Decrease health of target by 18-30 instantly and every 4 seconds Inflict 176-294 melee damage on target Inflicts 437-729 melee damage Inflicts 931-1552 melee damage Inflicts 186-331 melee damage Inflicts 90-150 slashing damage Stifles target for 3.7 seconds Inflicts 165-276 slashing damage Stifles target Inflicts 213-356 melee damage on target Grants Stealth Sheathes Weapon Inflicts 374-624 melee damage on target Roots target for 11.5 seconds Inflicts 105-176 melee damage on target Inflicts 105-176 melee damage on target Inflict 338-563 piercing damage on target Inflict 194-324 melee damage on target Decrease health of target by 39 every 4 seconds Inflict 150-250 piercing damage on target Decrease health of target by 41-68 instantly and every 4 seconds Inflict 678-1130 melee damage on target • Assassin’s Mark

character can get. There are multiple ways of doing this which are purchasing the apprentice II version from a merchant, having a jeweler making you an Apprentice IV, getting a rare stone and having the jeweler make you an Adept III, acquiring an Adept I as a drop from a chest, purchasing an Adept I off of the broker, or the holy fabled and sacred Master I drop. You can never ever depend on getting a Master I drop of a usable skill, so the next best thing is the player crafted Adept III. Jewelers require the rare stones of the proper tier to make the Adept III that you desire. - 22 - Everquest 2 Assassin Guide Let’s say for instance you wanted to upgrade Assassin’s Mark to Adept III, which should be your first priority when you get the skill anyways. You would need a Rough Jasper, or Palladium Cluster (or the proper equivalent) and take it to an alchemist to get made into an ink. This service usually does not cost much, and pristine isn’t necessary, however the Jeweler would most likely prefer it pristine. Then take that ink to a jeweler, and they can make you the appropriate Adept III skill. Other classes can also make the rare ink, if they have the advanced apothecary book of the proper tier. The apothecary skills are less effective than the alchemist skills, and it requires more fuels to make the ink that if an alchemist made it themselves, so because of that fact, I always recommend taking your stone to an alchemist first. Here is a list of the tiers of stones needed for your skills to be made into Adept III’s Tier 1(Levels 1-9) Tier 2(Levels 10-19) Tier 3(Levels 20-29) Tier 4(Levels 30-39) Tier 5(Levels 40-50) Tier 6(Levels 51-60) Copper Cluster Silver Cluster Palladium Cluster Ruthenium Cluster Rhodium Cluster Vanadium Cluster Rough Lapus Lazuli Rough Coral Rough Jasper Rough Opal Rough Ruby Rough Pearl You can acquire these by several means. The easiest is usually purchasing them off of the broker. Prices differ from server to server but you usually spend at least the tier, times 10 in gold pieces. So a rough ruby will run you at least 50gp on average; most likely even more, but rarely less. Another way you can acquire the proper stone is by mining. It can be time consuming, and getting a stone is not very likely as they are very rare, but still if you don’t have the gold, it’s the easiest way to acquire the stone. Plus you need mining skill for several heritage quests anyways, so you have to raise it sometime. The last way to acquire a rare stone is as a drop from a named mob. This also happens rarely, and the drop is not usually the actual stone, but an item that works in place of the stone for an alchemist. For instance, you could kill a level 45 named mob and get a Fissured Ruby, which for all intents and purposes is actually a rough ruby. For Apprentice II skills, every town in Freeport has a scribe (located on the map) for you to go and purchase your level 1-19 Apprentice II skills. For the rest, in North Freeport, are three merchants near a tree on the third floor of the zone, overlooking the housing below. Go up the stairs near the Longshadow Alley zone door to get to them. This is also the merchants who sell your flavor skills like your useless rat pet, your ugly high elf illusion, and your cool shadowed form of the assassin particle effect spell. Well the class specialization abilities are important choices, and people don’t want
to choose the wrong one on accident. Luckily, unlike priests, none of these choices will make or break our character. For that reason I can’t claim that one skill is clearly a better choice than the rest, but what I will do is list the ones I chose and why. For my level 14 training ability I’d choose Hunter’s Instinct. This ability will continue to provide benefits as even the upgrade to this skill you get at level 27 at adept 1 doesn’t provide as much of a DPS increase as this version at master 2. For my level 24 training ability I chose Poisoner’s Blade. You use this ability more than the other choices making it an easy choice for higher consistent damage overall. For my level 34 training ability I chose Exposed Attack. This is your leadin attack to stealth which you’ll be using more than the other choices. As with the Poisoner’s Blade choice, the constant damage upgrade used more often helps out a lot more than the others. For my level 44 training ability I chose Lingering Blow. This is a great ability used all the time whether soloing or group, and the damage upgrade is nice. For my level 54 training ability I chose Punch Blade. I chose it for the same reason I chose Poisoner’s Blade, or any of the other previous choices. You use it more often and it will deal more overall damage. *LevelSkill
